Rapid Detox

Rapid Detox is a process that allows for the user of narcotics (opiates) to detoxify at an accelerated rate.

The procedure is intended to reduce or alleviate the discomforts, symptoms, and triggers that are associated with narcotic and opiate withdrawal. This can decrease the chance of relapse occurring, and is considered to be the first step of the healing process.

  • The patient would attend a medically trained facility - a hospital, a clinic - with an anesthesiologists and physician present.
  • The patient will undergo a general anesthetic.
  • While under anesthesia, the patient is administered a balanced cocktail of narcotic antagonist medications.
  • The medications used in treatment have a better receptivity to the users opiate receptors than that of the existing drugs (narcotics/opiates) in their body.
  • The antagonists being introduced to the body will actually rid the body of the already existing drugs. Accelerating the physical reactions to the rapid withdrawal process which can last from 4 to 6 hours.
  • Continued support and counselling services are considered to be an integral part of the clients full recovery from substance use issues.
