Day Programs
Day program resources offer programming and support services during
regular business hours. These resources provide various services
such as group therapy, one to one counselling, health nurses and
more.
Residential Care
Residential care means that the resource offers 24 hour care.
These resources generally offer a highly structured, goal-oriented
program. Residential care can be for short or long term. Short-term
care ranges between three and six weeks. Long-term care ranges
from six months to one year. Bed space availability is based on
first come first serve basis. Programs provide specific care that
is conducive to their model of care and philosophies.
Home Care
Home care is a service in which a professional service provider
meets with you at your residence or a set meeting place to provide
specialized care, specific to your needs.
Out-Patient Resources
Out-patient resources offer a wide range of diagnostic, treatment,
rehabilitation and support services like therapy, counselling,
needle exchange, or clean fixing stations. These facilities do
not offer residential care.
In-Patient Resources
These programs offer 24 hours care. In-patient implies 24 hours
supervised care is available. These resources would be considered
residential and/or treatment centres. These programs offer education
in interconnected risks, goal setting and establishing personal
continuing care plans.
Dual Diagnosis
This term is used to describe resources that deal with clients who
present mental health issues co-existing with substance use issues.
Detoxification & Withdrawal Management
Withdrawal management resources offer in-patient or out-patient
services, where a client can detoxify from a substance with the
help of medically trained staff.
